Today is a day burned into our hearts
Where tragedy and terror dwell
My heart is forever saddened
This pain I know so well.
To those who give their all
And to those yet to come
The lives you always cherish
You will not succumb
Our prayers are lifted upon the winds
To the Creator,God to whom you believe
Our sincere hope that you will be lifted
To find hope and spirit upon the wings.
To those still searching for hope
And those in desperate need
We are all gathering together
Around the world we link arm in arm
Bringing unity abound
The heartbeat of this great nation
Will never be diminished
We will strive for greater understanding
We will rise above this frustration.
There is a bright shining light at the end
Where we join in brotherhood
Hand in hand and side by side
