I looked in your eyes tonight and saw all the things I never thought I'd see there.
Mostly, I saw her.

I kissed your lips tonight and felt things I never thought I'd feel there.
Mostly, I felt her.

I smelled your hair tonight as I lay -
after -
in your arms, and it seemed as though I smelled her.

You were inside me -
and I cried -
and in the sound I heard her.

You slept beside me,
in the night,
and you deny,
but I swear your dreams were of her.

You kissed me-
your arms held me from a faint-
and on your breath I'd taste her.

And now, even my mirrors lie,
for in their glass I see her.
And all the things I do each day
remind me that I'm not her.

I find this fate to be too cruel,
this torture now too bitter,
for all I shared with you before - between us now will be her.
