She is not yours now
Nor was she ever mine
She belongs to herself
That right is divine

She is not a possession
Her spirit it is free
I'll step back for a moment
Give her shade like a tree

Your brief time together
Can not even compare
There's a reason she comes home
To the house we still share

You say that you love her
She's the one you've been waiting for
Yet she says to me I love you
As she closes our door
