You are here but yet so far away
I gaze upon you daily
Remembering the way it was
Before you were here but so far away

My body craves your touch
The barest of brushes sets it a flutter
Other lovers it has had
Since you are here but so far away

I lay awake at night to hear you sleep
My heart crying out for yours
I softly weep the night away
Because you are here but so far away

You say we are friends
And I would not end that for the world
Lovers we are not to be
So here but so far away will you always be.
