Otazelalmost 12 years agoSorry mate, but 'beatniks' had nothing whatever to do with the 'Beatles' other than sharing the word 'beat' in their names, both originating from 'beat' as applied to music. Beatniks in the UK were originally at the peace loving, folk, jazz and poetry orientated end of the spectrum of musical youth culture of the late fifties and very early sixties and actually predated the Beatles.
