Of course she laughed, like a salted whip.
Not at all the impish
giggle that made me
look up as she entered the room.
Other guys flew to her with gleaming grins,
and some terribly interesting things to say,
to judge from her animated hands and ardent smiles.
To say? My feet and other parts grew
weary of debate, and carried me to her,
where I stood there. And I paused,
too long.
And then stammered my wordling and stared,
with eyes that concealed no more than her dress.
And she saw. Everything.
Ofcourse she laughed and laughed.
But I still couldn't flee!
Finally she stopped. And paused,
too long.
Then said, "Hi."
