Their encounter
had been brief and intense
leaving them both breathless

It had been carried out
while others watched
and cheered him on

She lay crying loudly
as he untied her
and set her free

Her legs finally free of their binding
she kicked at him as he stood up
and moved away

Her mind reeling
she stumbled to her feet
running blindly away from him

"Finally it's over"
she thought
the memory still consuming her mind

As she approached
the barrier she turned
fearing his pursuit

She need not fear
for the rodeo cowboy was
already preparing for his next event

The calf calmed
and gratefully returned
to her pen for some well deserved rest
