Your eyes of fire
have burned my soul
What once was half is now a whole

Hold me in your body
till I scream as if I'll die
Then hold me in your arms
and soar my spirits high

It won't last forever
it's only for the night
But God knows I'll remember you
as an eternal light

And when we say our goodbyes
simply caress my hand
turn away
don't look back
in sadness, I shall stand

A thought lasts forever
for an instant
on a special night
...and God knows I'll remember you
as that eternal light.

(more than thirty years ago, a friend gave me the basis for these lyrics...I used a Neil Young idea to link the lyrics with my adaptation of Neil's 'Down By the River'...

Wonder what Neil would think...

Anyway, the scrap of Pper the poem was written on was signed simply
'BODIE'

For years I claimed the lyrics as my own.

I'm sorry Bodie.

Wish I could play it for you.
