And I love it when you tell me
You love me
Holding me in such high esteem
Holding me at arms length

But fucking hell
You are more beautiful
Than you could possibly know
But I never wanted to be here
On one end
Desperately clinging to the off chance that
Hey
Maybe you meant it
All those times you told me I was pretty
With my eyes rolled up into the back of my head

You chased me
Remember?
I wanted no part
Of this long distance
Short paced
Whirlwind love affair
(If you could call it that)
You said
“Oh baby
I think about you crazy
Love you lemmon pie
Apple of my eye”
You always spelled lemon wrong
An extra M for extra yem
I guess
Somehow it was so pretty
Borrowed words
Authentically mis-spelled

God I miss that

But now we don’t even talk
Just mumbled hellos
In passing
Followed by gaps in conversation
They speak more then
Riddles and ridicule

He stole my heart
So I slit his throat
Going from homosapien
To homicide
In the blink of an eye.

(For Tyler. Wherever he is.)
