the white-walled
curing and killing grounds
of American capitalism...
opulent room service,
urinal fumes,
and the fair but fractaled forms
of full-figured nurses in black blouses
making ant-like patterns
around the skeletons
in the beds...
these
passingly aware of
the flashing, screeching machines,
their i.v. chains,
and the professionally concerned touch
of frequently sanitized hands
