A brief explanatory note:

This is not exactly a poem. It's a song lyric written by a friend of mine. I heard his band play it, the day after the election and it blew me away. I asked if I could post the lyrics here and he said yes.

I suppose some people who read it will be offended, but for those who are not, I hope you like it as much as I did. As Radiohead said, it's a drunken punch-up at a wedding.

How Could You?

well the polls are closed,
and the votes are in,
the counting's finished,
we did not win.

four more years,
and that seems so long,
you could have sent him back,
to where he does belong.

the idiot smiles,
as he takes his place,
grinning as he rapes,
us the human race.

you had your chance,
you could've said no,
but you said stay,
instead of screaming go.

how could you do it,
to the rest of us,
who had no say,
who had to trust,
that all of you,
would do right by us,
well the voting's finished,
and we've all lost.

Political emotions

Interesting read, hard to imagine but it's true, there are that many uneducated people in this land. Thank goodness its a land where were free to choose and post our remarks and still keep our heads...lol

the best man WON as they say
