HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?

if this were a poll,
how would you respond?
imagine if you will
somebody walking up to you
on a busy street corner
and posing this question.
would you tell the truth,
or side-step it all together?
but then this is being asked by a poet.
if it will help, i'll start it out.
i simply like to cut the chase.
forget the wine and dine.
just get right to it.
forget about going to the bar
and buying a bunch of drinks
to wittle down ones tolerance.
forget about getting online
with dating sites and posting profiles
in the hopes of getting lucky.
forget the notion about getting together
with someone from work.
forget the laundramat
and the grocery store.
it's starting to not look like a poll.
it sure looks like there
isn't a whole lot left for exploration.
