How would I hold you
If I hadn't any arms,
Nor a hand to grasp yours,
Or eyes to see your charms.

If I could not walk with you,
For I hadn't any feet.
Could I love you any less,
Would I give up and retreat.

If I no longer could hear you,
I'd miss the sound of your voice.
If I could never even be near you,
Now that wouldn't be my choice.

But I do have the physical means
do do all of the above,
But it all is meaningless,
Without my Sweetness's love.

For what good are arms,
That will always remain empty?
Or legs and feet, forever standing still.
Eyes that can't gaze into yours.

The body is useless,
whether whole or broken
to remain with out,
alone,never said never spoken.

For anothers arms can hold you,
see you, hear what you say,
While all I can do, is dream,
endlessly.

Nice

expresses longing very well. No matter the various reasons one might not connect.
