And God said to his companions
"Let us set forth on this mission, to create worlds –
And on these worlds, let us –
Create all sorts of Life –
In our own images."
And it was done.
And God left Man to his own devices
And in this time alone,
Man grew in stature and thought
Man outgrew God and in time, forgot that God existed
Let alone had created him from the clays of Earth
Man had also forgotten God's oath
"I will return."
So it was one day, that God returned
Returned to a world and creation that had forgotten him.
In anger God appeared in the heavens –
Above a humanity that had built into space,
Attempting to find the path to heaven
And become Gods themselves.
"Look up to the Heavens! Look up ye Sheep!"
And humans all around the world and space looked up –
"Look up to my face, for ye shall see
The Lord Creator ready to judge all"
The Foundations that Mankind had set
Crumbled under God's unmerciful power;
God was angered that he had been forgotten –
And his brethren watched his power with fear –
The Epoch of Humanity was over.
A million souls perished that fateful day –
And those who remained learnt that God was real
Only then shall we know what we had,
And what we lost –
For that is our frailty.
