My purpose is to serve
And in serving I am complete
Riding on the rails
Day and night
Warm or cold
Through town and country
Faster than the quickest car
Carrying my passengers
Dutifully
Contentedly
I am the rail
My purpose is to serve
And in serving I am complete
Ribbon across the wilderness
Hill and valley
Forest and plain
No obstacle too great
Further than the naked eye can see
Carrying my carriages
Dutifully
Contentedly
I am the station
My purpose is to serve
And in serving I am complete
Beside the rail born train
Standing firm
Whenever needed
Haven from the elements
Calmness in chaotic rush
Sheltering my customers
Dutifully
Contentedly
I am the passenger
My purpose is to use
And in my usury I am complete
Impatient and complaining always
Dirty trains
Tarnished rails
Defacing by my presence
Forgetting to be grateful
