I stand in the mirror and what do I see
Naked body with scars staring back at me
Not the scars you can feel when touching my skin
Rather scars only I see held deep within

Nobody sees them as I keep them secure
Safe inside me where only I must endure
These scars that have made me who I am today
Memories of my pain no words can convey

When I think of my past and mistakes I have made
It's hopeless to continue my masquerade
My masks fall to the floor with arms open wide
My eyes look to the sky and search for my guide

I've not spoken to you in so many years
I want to start over despite all my fears
I kneel down before you, please show me the way
With heart torn wide open, in your name I pray
