You saw something in my eyes
That I didn't want you to see
Now I can't take it back
I didn't want you to know how I feel
I know you don't want me
And I don't want to lose you
Make you too uncomfortable to stay
Because I'm just a pal to you
The words I want I'll never hear you say
I watch you date girl after girl
I laugh with you on Friday nights
And work with you on Monday morning
But I'll never share the early morning light
In a bed we've torn apart with our love-making
