I Done Found Me A Mermaid

Yesterday
Noticed the bathroom door was shut
Didn't know for certain who was in there
Had I known better
I would've asked what
Helped myself in with a spare key I keep
And as water rushed out
Stood there ankle deep
Faced with a woman's bare derriere
But .....
..... upon further discovery

I done found me a Mermaid

That's right
That's what I said
I found me a Mermaid
Left dumbstruck
Scratching my head

As for today
She was living it up in the shower
Didn't have the nerve to kick her to the curb
And sometime about the noontime hour
Darn water pipes were void of all pressure
Reduced to nothing more than a trickle
When the next water bill comes
I won't have a nickel to my name
Yet .....
..... I don't care 'cause

I done found me a Mermaid

That's what I said
You heard me right
I found me a Mermaid
If only she could stay just one more night

And tomorrow
And the day after that
Unfortunately
The water's all gone down the drain

Guess that's the way my luck goes
Away with the water it flows

Here I am
All by my lonesome again
My Mermaid gal
She done gone and feft me
And where she's disappeared to .....
..... nobody knows
