Wouldn't this make a good country/western song?
Feel free to make up a tune and sing it to someone!

You said "I'm forever yours,"
you even gave me the candy bar;
but your love grew cold
and the candy's old,
and you just couldn't go that far.

I don't get it--
I thought that love would last;
I don't get it--
now it's left there in the past.

Now you say you want me
when the burning fire takes hold,
but when I come to bed,
you turn your head,
and I'm left out in the cold.

So, I don't get it--
when I'm primed and pumped and full;
no, I don't get it--
there's no water in the well.

Oh, I gave my heart and I gave my soul,
and you broke it and stole it away;
and there's nothing here that's left of me
and the outcome's beyond my control.

Oh, I don't get it--
it's not meant to be like this.
I don't get it--
the candles went out with my wish.

You say that life's a mystery,
and happiness waits at the end;
but sometimes there's no sight
things will ever be right,
or I'll ever uncover that friend.

So, I don't get it--
I'm still waiting to sign for the prize;
I don't get it--
when will love shine again through these eyes?
When will love shine again through these eyes?
