I don't know why you smile, then walk away
Only to return to me, for just a little while

I don't know why you play this game,
But I want you to hear me, I need you to see...

That your eyes light up my night
Your smile makes my world seem right.

But I'm falling as the days go by, with smiles forlorn
To a place where hearts are guarded and love is scorned

How I wish for the key to be your light, your smile
To soothe your troubled spirit in times of trial

To be your lover and your friend
You daily cares to calm and mend

But Silent reigns where secrets dwell
And fear the only witness to the tears that swell.
