I Dream

I dream…
of fireflies dancing up there,
above us now, without a care.
I feel the softness of your hair,
while blinking dots light the air.
I dream of dancing with you.

I dream…
of sparrows singing near by,
their happy tunes that don’t ask why.
I feel your breath upon my chest,
while soaring birds return to nest.
I dream of singing to you.

I dream…
of dolphins laughing at me;
their dimpled grins, a joy to see.
I feel your fingers on my face,
and know you’re content in my space.
And, I dream of smiling with you.
