Click hereI heard you again last night
you come in late again?
There is a moment,
when the door slams shut,
that the mind wonders,
if it's really you.
but then there's no denial,
the sound of those keys
and the table tossed ring.
Like puppies
first fill the tummy.
You'll toy in the kichen and fridge
then I'll hear you coming to bed.
I can feel your eyes on me
as you head for the shower.
I can sense your power.
Time seems to drag as you linger
in the warm embrace
of the waters soothing spray,
in bed I lay,
waiting
for what I know will come.
The water stops and silence springs
Tapping, Ticking, Shaving
and closed door things.
My mind swirls with thoughts
in frozen time and anticipation,
the torture of waiting
for the door's opening,
I was craving.
'Click' and out goes the light
closer you'll come in the night
to your side of the bed
slowly lay, your damp head
bed shakes and covers tug
little bump of a lovers nudge
This is where I hear a pause
like the calm before the storm
a silence before the battle
a silent unraveling
the deafening sound of nothing
before
the snoring!
