(I heard it in your voice),
What you couldn’t bring yourself to say,
Why did you think I wouldn’t find out?
I don’t need you to protect me,

It hurt more when I found out from someone else,
Before you told me, everyone was already whispering,
(I heard it in your voice),
You could have told me sooner,

It might have been easier to handle,
Instead you made me care for you,
Made it so I couldn’t live by myself,
And you twisted the knife with your words,

Did you really have to tell me everything?
Some things I could have lived without,
You used to say I was your oxygen,
You needed me more than anything to survive,

Guess your doing all right without me,
I would have been told if you’d died,
Your still breathing, still ignoring me,
Doing everything I can’t bring myself to do,

Your words cut deep,
Making me bleed,
(I heard it in your voice),
You never actually said the words,

That’s the worst part,
All I knew was that everyone was talking,
And that I had heard it somewhere before,
(I heard it in your voice).
