Your Friendship has lasted when others falter
or look to mirrors for answers.

Loud gestures and action-filled stories convey clear meaning and swift running emotion, swift flowing 'neath a glorious armour of imagination.

I do not know the answers, and cannot do much more than listen, adding a nod or two;
but do know that the subtle gestures of trust and distance speak more clearly than the hurtling thesis or carefully laid track of argument.

Yet as our code is old and cast long ago in the nursery of a shared past, I will listen and try to hear all that is said, more that is implied, and I will ask to clarify.

Clarify and work to regain a trust not lost, but tarnished in one child's selfish joy at the new innocence of wisdom painfully won.

And if I beg for a moment's quiet, it is only in order to understand, to digest. To hear more clearly what you have to say, so at the next day's dawn I may remember your wisdom,
freely given as warmth against the past night's sly shadows.

So that I may respond with as much conviction and clarity in the sharp bright of day.

But in the end only this matters: You may speak to me in any way you choose, as your friendship is not one I ever,
ever, want to lose.
