I know what you need
but I say that to deaf ears
for you don't want to know
or at least to hear from me

I know what you feel
but how can that be
since you are unique
and so very complicated

I know what you think
when you're alone
and in throngs or crowds
or just with your familiy

I know your blackness
your fascination with things
that are bad and dark
and your need to give in

I know your desire to disolve
into the air and become gone
just observing and watching
without participating

I know your pleasure
that thrills you inside
when you become that
other person that you fear

I know your heart ache
that tears at you at times
when you let yourself slip
after you tell yourself no

I know your confusion
so many desires and wants
exciting you while resenting
the safe world you inhabit

I know you imagine things
the soft comfort of death
the dread of discovery
the worry of disappointment

I know you feel guilty
for not being satisfied
and for wanting less
and for being undeserving

I know you feel mysterious
a complicated enigma of beauty
a smiling facade of sensuality
hiding a child's innocence

I know you need someone
that sees you without judgement
so you can be free
and not bound by your secrets

I know you
