He left me.
I never thought he'd go.
So quiet, so sweet,
I wonder, did he know?
Never a cross word,
Never a frown,
Never a complaint,
He now wears a heavenly crown.
I never thought he'd go first.
I always thought it would be me.
A person so loving and giving,
Had many more years to see.
But my husband,
My only real friend
Fought to stay here,
But his heart gave in the end.
I loved my husband,
And let it be shown.
He was the best person,
I've ever known.
It hurts so bad,
I can't describe.
The pain and emptiness,
that I have inside.
I loved him,
with everything in me.
I loved him,
Because he was the best part of me.
He saw me first,
As he walked by.
I'm so happy the next day,
He stopped and said "Hi."
Rest my love.
God has called you home.
Thank you for giving me 28 years.
