I am afraid to be in love.
I am afraid to say yes.
I am afraid to love you.
I am afraid to open my heart.
I am afraid to tell you these things for
I am afraid you will leave if you know.

I need the strength to be weak.
I need the courage to cry.
I need you to look into my eyes,
I need you to touch my tears.

It frightens me, the naked truth
Of how beautiful life can be.
I see ghosts, I rub my scars,
I jump back from the heat and the fire.

Touch me. Touch me and tell me.
Draw me near, quell my fears.
Walk with me on this windy beach,
And I will put my hand in yours.

Expressive.

Your poetry is so expressive. You write what so many people feel. It is beautiful!
