I NEVER LOOKED

By JCSTREET ©

at her so beautifully
as I did that night, her
hair in rivulets in rainy
strands, her
face limned with an aura I had
not yet seen, her
EYES
pearls in azure oil, I
scryed there, worlds
lay open, I
walked in and basked but then
returned to touch
a soft finger to her eyelid, I
placed a palp on her
her naked shoulder, she
shuddered, I
put my jacket round her shoulders to
soften the rain and we
walked on, my

face ran red with rain my
eyes blinking and
suddenly she laughed and ran away
through puddles
tramping and splashing in her big white sneakers, did I
say

did I

and then we ran and ran, tramped and splashed
on streetlights
reflected
underfoot

down to a sunless sea

Studder?

Perhaps proof reading might help.
