I pray to god almost every day
to please come take my pain away
To give back to me the strength of trust
to give me the courage in life to adjust

I pray to god almost every night
to guide me out of my lonesome plight
To give to me a working heart
So that I can make another start

I pray to god almost every hour
to let me move on without a view that's sour
To give myself to another without fear
and to not be afraid of someone being insincere

I pray to god almost every breath
to give me the courage and not be so scared to death
To give to me the gift of trust
I need that courage, I must, I must
