I see a woman,
of beauty so fair.
Her smile does warm me.
Her eyes enchant me.
Her laughter draws my heart near.
Yet I remain steadfast in my silence.

I see a woman,
of charm and grace.
Her spirit captivates me.
Her confidence inspires me.
Her wit entices me almost to action.
Yet I remain steadfast in my silence.

I see a woman,
of spirit and beauty.
Do I speak to her?
Yes I do.
Do I reveal my hushed affections?
No I do not.
Do I fear rejection?
Yes I do.
Do I wish some way to tell her how I feel?
Yes I do.

All the words that come to mind,
seem phony,
seem plastic.
All the words that come to mind,
die silently on my tongue,
never seeing the light of day

I see a woman,
of spirit and beauty uncommon,
and walk the other way.
Neither of us knowing,
what might have been.
