I wait.

Everyone gathers for the dance.
Will they even get a chance?

Acceptances given, the dance has begun.
The separate two, seeking togetherness of one.

Triumph, jubilation at the passing of the gate.
Hopeful desire, is this my mate?

I wait.

Desire unleashed, given and received.
For some a loss, emotions bereaved.

Losses felt, they return to their seats.
Licking their wounds, their pain filled bleats.

Bandages applied, wounds healed.
Another cast for love is reeled.

I wait.

This time there is a growing need.
Togetherness established, connections breed.

A life is formed, togetherness found.
The seedling set in fertile ground.

The love is born, nurtured and grown.
A strong family tree in time is shown.

I wait.

Each generation, continues the dance.
They watch, seeing themselves as the young ones prance.

Did we look like that back then?
Of course we did, she says with a grin.

Why did you ever decide on me?
Others had more, much more indeed.

I wait.

How can you ask? She said with chagrin.
Your heart given freely was nothing to bin.

You've had my heart and my back my dove.
No-one can reach the depth of your love.

A family we built and someday will leave.
A great accomplishment, I think we achieved.

I wait.

For Her.
