Click hereI will be the bee to your flower.
As you will, I will taste your nectar.
I’ll throw open your petals
And lick all your sweetness.
And in a dance that repeats,
You will open and I will enter.
You will feel my urgent sting,
Until I’m done and return to my hive.
The dance ends, but desire remains.
At morning light, I will return.
No flower draws me as you do,
Your curves and colors teasing me
To pierce you and fill you.
As evening draws near,
I quicken my pace, lapping up all I can,
Tongue on your pistil,
Savoring the last taste before hurrying home.
Night falls, but desire remains.
The days grow short,
The bee repairs to its hive.
The flower fades and its petals fall,
Awaiting spring to bloom again.
The lives of bees and flowers are short,
And empires of bees and flowers will rise and fall,
Their wreck and tumble cascading through the years.
Hives and gardens will be thrown down,
And stamped into oblivion.
But desire remains.
But desire remains. Well done. I love the imagery and metaphore. A life and timeless love captured in but a few short days. Both arousing and touching at the same time. Bravo!
"Empires of bees and flowers" seems a more interesting image to build around, even with the same theme. I appreciate poetry. Please continue to share.
I've been enjoying your recent venture into poetry Simon. This one is really nice, an interesting message that could, in the big picture of the Universe, be applied to mankind.
