I wish I was a painter.
I would show You to the world
In splashes of beautiful color.

Deep passionate purples,
Violent slashes of red,
Glades of soothing green,
Ambivalent oceans of ice blue.

They would combine into the
Image that is You.

I wish I was a composer.
I would play You to the world
In complicated melodies.

Thundering bass crescendos,
Haunting arias,
Tremulous notes that
Charge the air I breathe.

They would combine into the
Symphony that is You.

I wish I knew how to describe
In a way that all would see,
How You are complicated
But in such a simple way.

I wish I knew how to explain
In a language that all could read.
How You are important
In that unnecessary way.

But all I am left with
Are these few meager words.
They do little justice
Illuminating the wonder of You.
