I won't be
You won't be
We won't be
Perfect
Nothing ever is
But
You & I
We know that
We both seem to have
A fairly good grasp
On reality
(Except for this whole thing...)
I'm sure we've each concocted
A view of each other
That we will need to adjust
When fantasy and reality meet
But I'm also sure we both know that
And I'm also sure we both know
Each other
Because before all this started
There was me
&
There was you
&
Though there was no us
There was a friendship
And while reality will bring
Some surprises
We will always share
This passion
This connection
This intimacy
And these things
Will help us through
The good times and the bad
The easy times and the hard
And in those inevitable times
When we can't see eye to eye
We'll just have to throw each other down
And screw.
