This symbol unfolds by the hour,
for ideological reasons we can't record,
your flowering has been awkward,
uneasy for your apostles,
but I can tell by the warmth you've spread
and by the hours I can't recall—
exactly what you said,
as you step naked out of bed
and into a dress made from flowers
