These idle hands can't grasp
The concept, the tangible, the unavalible
You that I long to.

I want to clasp your troubled digits
Against my devil's playthings
Tugging your troubled heart close.

Hoping somehow the beat-to-beat
From my stable chest to yours
Could heal it enough to let love in again.

I envy the sheets the comfort you
My kingdom for 10 minutes as them
To trace your outline in the most delicate way possible

I've memorized your memory
Danced your dance
Written as I've loved
And loved as I've written

I've kissed you in dreams
Dreamed of your kiss
Rested my head close to your heart
And felt maybe you might pull at me too.

And still I suspect it's not enough
Nor will it ever be
To pull your jaded heart
Home to me.
