If I Ask You

byredtinkerbell288©

Food for Thought:

If you are tired and grumpy.
If I ask you not to be so terse with me, does it matter?
I asked and he said no, he will be hateful anyway.
So I don't talk to him.
Problem solved? In his mind, yes.
Did he dig a little deeper in the grave of hate? Yes.

If I ask you to shave your face.
Does that make you want to grow more?
Would you do it for me? Answer is no....why bother.
Message received is "I don't care if it hurts you, don't care what you think and I don't want to kiss you."
Romance and attraction is gone.

If I ask you to touch me.
Does that make you hesitant? Pressured?
And men wonder why women stray.
I would like to be touched, but ..oh well.

If I ask you to stay.
Does that make you want to run farther?
The wind blew the leaf because the tree didn't ask it to stay.
That can be either emotional or physical.

If I told you I needed you.
Does that interpret to you a choking sensation?
or a manipulation of your freedom?
Maybe it is because I just like to be around you/talking to you.
But when neglect enters, eventually.... I don't anymore.

If I told you I loved you.
Does that mean nothing?
Over rated, jaded, ignored, discounted?
Maybe it is because I would like to hear the words said to me...but again ..oh well.
It is simply comforting to hear.

If ignored long enough.
Desensitized? Thrown into fantasy worlds?
Many a women lives alone with her mate by her side...as do men.

If doing the right thing.
Sacrifices are over?
Women rarely have that freedom.
Men leave for their own reasons.
The perpetual package of cigarettes they can't seem to find.

If I wanted to have the perfect spouse.
He would adore me, allow me the chance to feel beautiful, let me adore him, let me take care of him and his needs and do the same in return.

But it isn't a perfect world.

The real world is full of being ignored, pushed aside, chided, scolded, not seeing or caring that needs are met, everything else comes first, not being spoken to, not being spoken to kindly, not being friends, not having sex or being touched, repressed feelings, lack of companionship, and last but not least...lack of being loved or feeling loved.

But society says do the right thing...and stay. Don't throw away 30 years of marriage.

No wonder there are so many pitiful, sad, Cry in My Beer country songs and sad love songs.

The hopeless romantics that dream of fireplaces and wine and perfect worlds go to bed every night.
They wake up, only to the same life.

Some of us just try to ignore it all and do our own thing, if we are lucky.
