If only.

The love she holds for him can not be discribed,
the upset and pain, the tears she as cried,
yet she holds it so dear, so close to her heart,
so precious so true, so scared to ask the words are we through?

He says that he loves her but she fears so much,
that the love he hold for her is just not enough,
he pines for another and she says it's okay,
but deed down inside her she dies a little more each day.

She knows they are not destined to live happy ever after,
yet she holds onto a dream of a life spent together,
in his life she will remain, in his heart she as no doubt,
but of her love for him all she wants to do is scream it out and shout.

One day will come when he says his goodbyes,
a sad day it will be as she knows she will cry,
he will shed many tears along the way also,
but she knows the tears she sheds will be more so ...

She will pine for his smile and the way his eyes sparkle,
the way he says I love you when he looks at her and smiles,
the way he sleeps soundly while she watches over him and dreams,
the way he says goodbye to her and the way that he confides in her.

All of this she will miss, all of this she will crave,
he will live within her heart, mind and soul, she will have to be brave,
but her eyes will never see him again the way it was before,
hearing him tell her he loves her each day more.

So for now she takes each precious moment as it comes,
capturing it and storing it deep within her heart,
then dreams of a life together as she slumbers soundly at night,
where he will always be there with her holding her tight,
living the longed for life of happy ever after night after night.
