Night has come,
and I am alone,
and it is in these quiet moments
that I find I think of you the most
As the darkness falls
to enfold my world,
I close my eyes and leave this place,
and find myself with you
And though the illusion
may give brief respite,
and allow me once again to feel the safety
to be found enfolded in your arms,
to melt with the warmth of your tender kiss,
to lose myself in the depths of your eyes,
I know, still I know
That illusions die all too quickly,
and soon I must return
here where I belong though do not wish to be,
stranded and alone in my world and not in yours.
