I tried to give her the world
I wanted to give her my heart
But that one fateful phone call
and we were severed apart

it all came crashing down
the lies and the pain
we were kidding ourselves
our lives wrapped in shame

she was cheating on him
I knew it from the start
she never promised more
yet I gave her my heart

she never said she would leave him
I kept hoping she would
anything to keep her with me
It didn’t do any good

It happened long ago
but it still hurts today
but to regain my honor
that price I will pay

I hope she is happy
for her husband the same
I regret every second
of that sick twisted game

I can only move on
prove myself strong
but I will never forget
how much I was wrong

I’m sorry M.

Nothing can be sadder than serious introspection!

But if we can't be truthful with ourselves...
