Imago

byoneiria©

The vile worm
having consumed its universe,
snuggled into a circle,

slowly devouring its own flesh
from the inside out,
casting off the face

that it had once shown the unsuspecting world.
It quickly shred the frail membrane
of its pathetic prison,

stretched its iridescent wings,
and flew into the cold, cold wind
in search of the flower.
