As shadows enter, blinding sight
Robbing day of blessed light
We nestle in a tangled web
Of blankets strung acros the bed

I feel you breathing, slow and deep
Your warmth beside me as you sleep
One leg entwined, one arm outflung
Though nightfall's only just begun

When your eyes open, molten heat
My pulse's sudden hurried beat
Teasing fingers find their mark
Our movements urgent in the dark

The room is quiet, calm and still
Full of winter's icy chill
I snuggle close, you do not mind
We sleep and leave the day behind.
