I only knew you for a short time,
whilst youn lived.
But in the time that i knew you,
you showed me that every day alive
was worth living and cherishing.
You were only children,
struck down by the ills of cancer.
Each time I came to the hospital,
to read and spend time with you.
I felt so happy, knowing i was,
giving you all joy and an escape
from the pain and suffering that,
you all were going through.
I became fond of you all,
each book i read, each game I played
with each of you or you all as a group,
I relished and my soul cried out in joy.
You all knew you were dying,
but you never gave up living.
You taught me that a life is most precious,
you taught me the joys of love and caring.
A few months ago, Thomas was first to pass away,
the last time i saw him, he drew me a picture,
of him and i holding hands under a grand sun,
and next to my name you had written, 'My big brother',
I will treasure you all my life and will always keep,
the picture close to me.
And tonight, another precious soul passed away,
Sarah...I thankyou for letting me into your life,
You are and always will be loved and remembered.
For those who feel life is unfair, just remember,
Be glad you are healty and breathing,
for life is not to be taken granted of.
Just peer into the eyes of a child,
and gaze into the eyes of love and innocence.
