In the dark and dead of that night
I held you beside me oh so tight
Seeing your face, just in my sight
Made me feel like my life was right
In the dark and dead of that night
As I held you beside me so so tight
Screams I heard when at that height
Keep on breathing with all of our might
In the dark and dead of that night
Holding you beside me nice and tight
To let you go, I had to fight
Because after dark, there comes the light.
