Stay with me a moment longer, love
let us tarry beneath the sycamore
storm skies behind
slipping sun sends specks sparkling
golden droplets twinkling
on leaves and grass
perhaps my love
you will as so let me slip
my arm around your waist
your soft flesh up on my skin
sending such sparkles through my soul
not yet my love
for there is still light
golden and fading
night inevitable
before we set forth
into the twilight
stay with me a moment longer, love

Sends shivers through me

This caught my eye on the Random list of poems. Not sure how I missed seeing it at the time - or missed seeing it properly. Perhaps I missed that day or I was tired and blind.

This is so lovely. The direct picture of being in the late afternoon with someone prior to going indoors.

And the subtext.

Breaks your heart.

Do you realize

That you paint pictures, visual and emotional, very clear pictures? Yes you do. And you just combined two of my favorite things
