in this trembling twilight
the autumnal moan of mantids caught in an early frost
delirious with sunlight’s lie
the silent white fireworks of sprouting mushrooms
fireflies’ yellow luminescent trails like
glowing swirls of phosphorescent plankton in the wine dark sea
water lilies spilling from a crocodile's toothy maw
a sliver of light trapped under a centipede's foot
the florid wings of a dying dove
the raspy whisper of dry leaves blown
the breeze-bent wings of a dying fly
contrails of soulburst in the fleshy void
a gigabyte of sparkle
in a thimbleful of hope
