smiles stubbornly float in
murky puddled devotion
eyes raise to a forbidden zone
to find it makes no difference
as his wrath has dropped from view
smiles float above submissive tears
indifference lapping at the edges
we kneel on its neck and
let it breathe mud
musing on the wisdom
of ensuring reality
