Sometimes I think
We'd be better off
If we could choose
Who we fell in love with
It would be easier on our hearts
If we could stop ourselves
Before we fell for those
Who were wrong for us:
The indecisive one
Who can't make up their minds
About what they really want
The "party-hearty" type
Who never takes anything seriously
The married one
Whose love we can never have
Sometimes I wonder
Why we even bother falling in love
It's scary and confusing
And it messes with our heads
Does he love me?
Do I love him?
Then I realise something:
We have no say in the matter
It's just something that happens
Whether we want it to or not

too true...

"Sometimes I think

We'd be better off

If we could choose

Who we fell in love with

It would be easier on our hearts"

The most true sentiment I've read this year!!

wonderful write!

~~

Falling in love

Like hunger pangs,

So perfectly natural;

How we respond to body's needs

That's where we go wrong.
