certain moments of spring
linger after the dance
life moves more rhythmic
blowing through windy palms
along the schoal as I stroll
beside the mirrored inlet lagoon
skyscape shimmers its reflection
on calm waters
as moor-hens banter
and alligators speak
the language of love
in soft sighs I remember
his pacing shadow
timid like a unicorn whisper
vacant stare watching wordless
in mummed hesitation
suspended in sun bathed heat
of balmy shades of jasmine
southern palms swaying
in magic love chants
pounding rhythm calling me
above the silence
in transcended drum-beats
where white lace uncovered
worship from an uncarnal dragon
burning time in sapphire veils
but here with me now holding
melted pieces of a gallant
heartplate is all that remains
of the lady of the lake
enbedded in the limestone altars of time
