Do not cry for me, my grieving mother
For now I'm bathed in golden light.
This was not my turn, my time to be.

As you held me, soft and close
The tears that fell, shed in pain
Fell against my perfect face

Even through my newborns eyes,
I understood that silent blame,
The needless guilt you locked away

And as my life slipped slowly by
I heard the echo of your words
I felt the strength of your love

With each dying breath I took, I knew
The memory of my innocent soul
Would remain safely tucked
Deep within your heart
